NanoReader — the microchip reader that shows a QR code
Conventional readers show an ID number and stop there. NanoReader adds an OLED display carrying both the chip ID and a QR code. Scan it with any phone and it opens the lookup site directly.
NanoReader is a handheld FDX-B (ISO 11785) pet microchip reader for veterinarians, shelters and registries. Its OLED display shows the 15-digit chip ID and a QR code that opens the lookup site in one phone scan, removing transcription errors. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity; works across operating systems and practice software.

From scan to owner in one step
With a standard scanner, staff read a 15-digit number off a small screen, write it down, and type it into a registry search form — three chances for a wrong digit. With NanoReader, staff scan the chip, then scan the QR code on the reader with a phone, and the lookup opens.
NanoReader reads any ISO 11785 FDX-B chip, including NanoID mini microchips. Shelters and animal control agencies equipping several sites can ask about volume supply.
Microchip reader FAQ
What makes NanoReader different from a normal microchip scanner?
NanoReader's OLED display shows both the chip ID and a QR code. Scanning the QR code with any phone opens the lookup site directly, so staff never transcribe a 15-digit number or retype it into a registry search form.
Which microchips can NanoReader read?
NanoReader reads FDX-B (ISO 11785) microchips, the standard used by ISO 11784/11785 pet microchips including NanoID. If you need FDX-A or HDX reading, tell us and we will confirm compatibility.
Does NanoReader connect to practice management software?
NanoReader has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity and works across operating systems and practice software. Tell us which software your clinic or shelter uses and we will confirm the integration path.
Who is NanoReader for?
Veterinarians, animal shelters, animal control and pet registries that scan animals routinely and want faster, error-free lookups.
