Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about Inpetra veterinary ICU units, oxygen chambers, cages, NanoID ISO pet microchips, NanoReader, and buying from us in the US.
Microchips
What standard does the NanoID pet microchip use?
NanoID is an ISO 11784/11785 FDX-B microchip. It carries a globally unique 15-digit code that ISO-compatible scanners used by veterinarians, shelters and customs authorities can read.
How small is the NanoID microchip?
1.4 × 8 mm. That is about one third narrower than the common 2.12 × 12 mm chip, and the implant has roughly 70% less volume, which means a smaller needle, a smaller wound and less disturbance to subcutaneous tissue.
Is a mini 1.4 × 8 mm microchip readable by standard US scanners?
Yes, any ISO 11785 (FDX-B, 134.2 kHz) compatible scanner reads the chip. Smaller chips generally have a shorter read range than 12 mm chips, so tell us the scanner models your clinic or shelter uses and we will confirm read performance before you order.
Is NanoID registered with the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup?
Yes. NanoID is AAHA lookup registered and ICAR certified, so a scanned NanoID number can be traced through the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup in the United States.
Is there a temperature-sensing microchip?
Yes. An optional NanoID variant reads body temperature at the same time as identity — useful as an early indicator of infection, inflammation and heat stress, and as a longitudinal record for chronic cases. It requires a temperature-capable reader.
How long does a NanoID microchip last?
15+ years in situ. The chip is sealed in biocompatible, waterproof, corrosion-resistant encapsulation with an anti-migration surface coating.
Do you supply microchips in bulk for shelters and distributors?
Yes. Inpetra supplies NanoID microchips with sterile applicators to veterinary clinics, shelters, rescue organisations and distributors in the US. Email sales@inpetra.net with your annual volume for volume pricing.
Microchip reader
What makes NanoReader different from a normal microchip scanner?
NanoReader's OLED display shows both the chip ID and a QR code. Scanning the QR code with any phone opens the lookup site directly, so staff never transcribe a 15-digit number or retype it into a registry search form.
Which microchips can NanoReader read?
NanoReader reads FDX-B (ISO 11785) microchips, the standard used by ISO 11784/11785 pet microchips including NanoID. If you need FDX-A or HDX reading, tell us and we will confirm compatibility.
Does NanoReader connect to practice management software?
NanoReader has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity and works across operating systems and practice software. Tell us which software your clinic or shelter uses and we will confirm the integration path.
Who is NanoReader for?
Veterinarians, animal shelters, animal control and pet registries that scan animals routinely and want faster, error-free lookups.
Veterinary ICU units
What is a veterinary ICU unit?
A veterinary ICU unit is an enclosed, climate-controlled chamber for critically ill or post-operative dogs and cats. Inpetra PJICU units regulate oxygen concentration, temperature, humidity and lighting from one microcomputer controller with an 8.4-inch touch screen, and are used for post-operative recovery, respiratory cases, neonatal care and resuscitation.
What sizes of veterinary ICU units does Inpetra supply?
Five models: PJICU-01 (1400 × 860 × 1900 mm, full-feature flagship), PJICU-02 (1200 × 650 × 1670 mm), PJICU-03 (1290 × 660 × 1750 mm), PJICU-04 (1290 × 660 × 1890 mm, with infrared therapy) and PJICU-05 (1000 × 710 × 1600 mm, the smallest footprint, with infrared therapy).
How is oxygen controlled in the PJICU units?
A centrally integrated high-sensitivity oxygen sensor drives the oxygen supply. CO₂ detection triggers adaptive ventilation, and a power-off ventilation fallback keeps air moving if power is lost.
How loud is a PJICU veterinary ICU unit?
Overall noise is measured below 35 dB. Most core components are low-energy silent parts imported from Germany.
What electrical supply does a veterinary ICU unit need in the US?
PJICU-02 and PJICU-03 are rated at 1500 W. Before quoting, Inpetra confirms voltage, plug configuration and site clearances for your clinic so the unit arrives ready to install.
Oxygen chamber
Is the PJIGY-01 a pressurised hyperbaric chamber?
No. PJIGY-01 creates a simulated hyperbaric oxygen environment for small and medium-sized animals. The oxygen effect is regulated indirectly by adjusting the gas mixing ratio inside the animal compartment, with automatic oxygen concentration control.
What size animals fit the PJIGY-01 veterinary oxygen chamber?
The barrel chamber measures Ø1000 × 600 × 600 mm and is intended for small and medium-sized animals such as cats and small to medium dogs. Overall machine dimensions are 1580 × 600 × 1100 mm; power is 2200 W.
What does the PJIGY-01 system include?
The animal chamber, gas delivery control, environmental monitoring, video monitoring and temperature control, all started from a single key on the central controller.
Veterinary cages
What material are Inpetra veterinary cages made of?
304 stainless steel throughout, with 1.2 mm body material. 304 stainless is corrosion resistant, acid resistant and does not rust under hospital disinfection routines.
Which veterinary cage series are available?
PJJY dog cages (1–6 positions), PJML cat cages (2–4 positions, 2 and 3 tier), PJDY oxygen and infrared warming cages (1–6 positions) and PJZS display cages with tempered glass doors.
Do you offer veterinary oxygen cages?
Yes. The PJDY series has an oxygen chamber door with a delivery port, wet/dry temperature display, leakage protection, constant temperature control and high-temperature cut-out. Infrared warming variants carry 4–6 warming lamps.
Can cage banks be customised for my ward layout?
Yes. Modules combine freely across the range, and custom configurations are available for ward layouts that do not fit a standard block.
